A Fighting Week!

So much happens in a week...

This week I have been working with my own wonderful clients.  Showing homes and listing a wonderful home.  Planning an open house, coaching 3 different youth soccer team, and creating some art.  With all of these activities one would think that my mind has little room for wandering.  Wrong!

This week I have done nothing but think about two wonderful women and their families.  This week, their fight and battle has thrown them each a curve ball.  Different tests, scans, biopsies and medicine have been added to their wild world.  Being a wife, mommy, role model, daughter, business woman and patient has filled their weeks.  But, this week has been a bit different.  Different tests and results have filled my Facebook feeds and I am drawn to the Facebook walls that these women have.  The prayers, bravery and support takes my breathe away.
I have had the unfortunate opportunity to send out a "Half Time" speech for my friend Shelly.  I sent a half time speech to my aunt when she was in the middle of her chemo treatment.  My aunt is a battler and believer just like these wonderful girls fighting this fight.  I wanted to share my half time speech with you.  Shelly and Kathleen are fighting.

  • Setting the background...Remember I am a college coach in my past life. Tons of years of playing soccer and the 5yrs coaching college soccer with the most competitive, wild and dedicated athletes and staff ever.
Locker room...Half time...Score is bad guys 3 us 1. Not a strong half time result so it is silent and heads are down...way down. There is one half remaining to work magic...

"This is not over. We have to continue to put things together that will click and get us back into this game. This match is a MUST win for us to advance.
We have them on the other locker room thinking that this game is over. We are in here thinking we lost match. We have not lost this and we are not going to!
We have to move the ball a bit better. Adjust and make things happen in the middle of the park. The middle of the park is this teams' heart and soul. We move the ball well through there and the parts of the puzzle will come together.
Stop listening to the ref. Don't listen to the fans. You better not be listening to them trash talk their way through this game. Listen to your heart, believe in your feet and know that your speed and your strength will push you through their back field and you will get the ball in the back of the net. One goal...One Goal changes the face of this match.
There have to be small battles all over the field. Win them one at a time and push forward. Make the decision right here and right now. This is your game to win. You have so much more to give. You don't even know what you are made of yet. You have so much passion, love, desire and fight in you. You now need to adjust yourself and begin to prepare for the battle of your life. One tiny fight at a time. It is not going to be easy, but trust me, it will be so worth it!
When you think you can't for a split second, that is weakness and there is NO ROOM FOR THAT! I need you to find power and the strength to fight this to the final whistle blows.
Make the choice now to WIN this game. I believe in you and thousands of others do to. Fight this one with grace and dance to victory with elegance. Give me a show and dazzle me with your power! Show me, your family and this world what a true fighter and champion is!"

I believe in you all.  Fight!  Join the team.
